Wednesday WisdomDid you know that there are two new medical schools opening in Canada in 2025? Simon Fraser University and Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) are both launching new med schools next fall! This will allow more students to attend medical school! Both schools are focused on training more primary care physicians (family doctors) to help with the shortage we are seeing. TMU is currently accepting applications, until December 2nd. Their medical school is located in Brampton, ON. SFU has not yet opened their application. Their medical school will be in Surrey, BC. I always ask these students "Why? What are you in such a hurry for?" I know that 4 years can seem like a long time - as I say this, I'm in my 5th year of a 6-year PhD that I thought I would finish in 4 years. So I get it! But most students only do one degree.
